• 1/12 - 1/31

       - MFE ALA - There will be a mandatory meeting for all attending MFE ALA at lunch in Ms. Payan's room on 1/10! If you are attending, please bring your payments because they will be due during the meeting. Ms. Payan will go through the itinerary and guidelines for this conference. If you have any other questions or concerns, please email Ms. Payan (dpayan@missionprep.org)!

       - FFA Chapter Game Meeting - AG Speech will be hosting a chapter meeting for the touring 7th/8th graders on January 29th from 4-5:00 PM. If your child is interested in attending, they can help man the booth with our AG Speech class! Officers will need to arrive early for set up.

      - SLC Conference Application - If you are interested in attending the State Leadership Conference this year, there will be a survey pasted below. THIS IS DUE JANURARY 31ST! This survey can be completed on your time, but if you have any questions regarding dates and times, please email Ms. Payan (dpayan@missionprep.org). YOU CANNOT ATTEND IF YOU ARE A TIER 2.      - GLC Application - All applications are due by January 31st. Awards will be given out during degrees and doughnuts on Flex on Friday Feb 7th. Members who receive their degrees will also be recognized at the end of the year banquet on May 9th from 5:30-7pm. Link is pasted below: ​​​​​​​Greenhand Degree Application

• 2/4 - 2/22

     - Spring LDE Competition - If your student is in AG Speech, they will be competing in this event to meet the requirements for this class. This will be at Templeton Highschool from 4-8:00 PM on February 4th. Ms. Payan will have a van to transport anyone who needs a ride. You may drive yourself there, but you are not allowed to transport any Mission students. WE ALSO NEED JUDGES FOR THIS EVENT!! If your parents or significant peers are interested in judging, please email Ms. Payan (dpayan@missionprep.org) and she will get you squared away. Please keep in mind that they are not allowed to judge your events!

    - World Ag Expo Trip - This is a day trip for all AG students on February 12th all the way down in Tulare. We will have vans leaving at 7:30 AM and will try to be back no later than 7:30 PM.  Please bring money to order food at the event and for when we stop for dinner. There are only 50 spots available for this event so please sign up soon!

   - Rotary Tree Planting - Rotary De Tolosa is having its annual tree planting on February 15th from 8 AM - 12 PM. The tree planting will take place at Righetti Hill. If you would like to sign up and get community service hours as well as FFA activity points, the RSVP sheet is on the back whiteboard in Ms. Payan’s Classroom!

   - FFA Scavenger Hunt Meeting - The FFA Officers will be hosting a scavenger hunt for all FFA members to participate in! Anyone that attends will get 1 FFA Point. This chapter meeting will be on February 18th @ 3:30 PM!

   - Sectional Line Dance - This dance will be on February 22nd at MCP. This dance is in combination with ASB, and we will have loads of country music, line dancing, and so much more! Anyone that attends will earn an FFA Point. MORE INFORMATION TO COME. 

• 3/3  - 3/31

      - Fat Tuesday FFA Potluck - This chapter meeting will be on March 3rd during Flex. This will ONLY be open FFA chapter members, not students. This will be in preparation for the beginning of the Lenten season. More information will be released in regard to food when we get closer to the date!

     - Rotary Tree Planting - Rotary De Tolosa is hosting a tree planting event on March 3rd from 8 AM - 12 PM. If you have any questions about this service opportunity, please email Ms. Payan (dpayan@missionprep.org)!

     - Record books - We will be pulling anyone involved in FFA classes record books for the end of year banquet (3/31)! Ms. Payan will review the record books and present awards based on how involved you were in the agriculture community!

• 4/3 - 4/11

      - SLC Competition - If you have already applied, this event will take place in Sacramento, CA from 4/3-4/6. There are only eight spots available, and Ms. Payan will decide which will be able to go. You will miss two days of school so make sure to communicate with your teachers. The cost of attending is estimated around $250. You must pay this fee by March 31st to Ms. Payan. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND IF YOU DO NOT PAY YOUR FEE. Attendees will get 8 FFA Points.

     - Chapter Officer Application - If you are interested in becoming a chapter officer, please fill out this survey by April 11th. If you are selected, you will need to give a 2-minute speech and answer 2 pre-determined questions at our April Chapter meeting (4/29).       - FFA Easter Meeting - This is a FFA Chapter meeting happening on April 29th after school @ 3:30 PM. More details will be released in regard to the contents of the meeting!

• 5/9 - 5/11

     - FFA Banquet - Come join our FFA Chapter at our beloved school for a night of awards and recognition! This will be on May 9th at 5:30 PM and RSVP are required. When we get closer to the date, more info will be released regarding the RSVP. Students will be recognized for their involvement in the FFA, and we will announce the new MCP FFA Chapter Officers for 25-26.

    - Mother's Day Flowers - Mission College Prep is involved in a program that support women who have sustained domestic abuse and are single parents. Every year, we make flower bouquets and give the money we sell to the organization. Our FFA chapter is happy to offer 1 FFA point or 1 Service Hour to anyone that designs a flower bouquet. You must have at least 3 blooms, 5 greens, and must be able to fit four bud vases. If you don't want to design and need community service hours, you can fill the vases for up to 2-3 service hours. The dates for these construction dates are TBD!
